I'm going to revert to the original version of the meme for this day, since it's an easier question to answer.  Besides, maybe I haven't had my best experience yet. :P

First, I've got to say that I got a coworker's help to build a computer that could play SW:TOR because my old computer (despite having a pretty awesome video card - having many geeky friends comes in handy, the old computer was a cast off and top of the line a few years back) was not going to be good enough.  I'm kind of proud of that.  And managing to install my old video card in my new computer on my own.  I'm easily impressed with myself.

So, having acquired a SW:TOR capable computer the fun way, and finding out what servers my friends planned to play on (they wanted to be able to try out both advance classes of each class), I set about making one of everything.  Starting with the two classes I'd been interested in since I first heard they were in the game: Smuggler and Imperial Agent.  I knew I'd like those classes, and I do.  Oh so very much.  (I may be the only person on the planet enjoying the dps version of those classes.  I blame it on years of playing a mage in WoW.)

Like a number of other people, I thought making a green, female Han Solo sounded like a good idea and voila! Jezari was born.
I'd also decided before the game even launched that my agent would be a Light Side James Bond in spaaace, and I was pleased to discover that it was actually possible to make a handsome guy, which I did, and voila! Kyrian was born.

The only other character I made that day that I haven't since remade due to not being "right" was my bounty hunter, the tough (she's got a scar and everything), but actually nice Savler.  Strangely enough, those three characters are also the characters I've ended up writing fan fiction about.   Make of that what you will.

I will say that it took almost no time of game playing for my characters to have personality beyond what I'd started with.  And probably even less time for me to decide that SW:TOR was the best MMO ever.  (Other MMOs?  What other MMOs?)

So my first day was making characters, starting a couple of them, and falling utterly in love with the game.  Story. I can haz story. *siiiiigh*

I completely understand about needing attractive characters, regardless of gender. I always sorta hated that I played exclusively female toons, and then I realized -- hot damn, I have absolutely no problem playing a sexy male chiss.

I'm ok with cheesecake armor for squishy classes - a full-coverage cloth dress isn't going to provide any more protection vs. a giant axe than a negligee does - but I can't stand it on heavy armor. Fortunately, I already wanted to make my plate-wearer a male anyway. And it's a good thing I never really liked playing my assassin - I think there were maybe 2 leather armor sets I ever saw that didn't make her look like she was taking a break from an S&M video shoot. But I can forgive a certain amount of cheesecake if the armor is pretty, and Aion's was certainly that. (Rift, by contrast, has less cheesecake but the armor tends to be facepalmingly ugly just in general, so I remain nostalgic for Aion's armor.)

Story is certainly a thing I like in single-player games, which is to say games I know will have a defined ending after which there will be nothing for me to do except maybe mop up a few side quests, or just start over. In an MMO setting, I know I'm going to finish the storyline and then hang out raiding/dungeoning/PvPing with my friends, so it's less important to me. Though I will say it's nice that major Rift NPCs have their own backstories and character arcs - most NPCs in Aion and Warhammer could have been replaced by vending machines and quest billboards with no real loss to the game.
